Farmer Who Retired Four Years Ago Dies At Hospital Saturday

Christoffer L. Miller, 76, retired farmer residing on east Colfax street, died at 2 a.m. Saturday at Court View hospital. He had been a farmer all his life until he retired four years ago due to ill health.

Mr. Miller was born in Voerladdegaard, near Horsens, Denmark, July 2, 1862. He came to Blair in 1891 and worked as a farm hand for three years. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Campbell mortuary, the Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating. Burial followed in Blair cemetery.

Christoffer L. Miller was born in Voerladegaard near Horsens in Denmark on July 2, 1862. He came to Blair in 1891 where he worked for farmers for three years. He was united in marriage to Louise Anderson from Ry, Denmark near Skanderborg. To them were born eight children, all living: Lorens J. Miller, Blair; Johannes B. Miller, Herman; Mrs. Hans O. Anderson, Decatur; Mrs. Rolland R. Richter, Blair; Leo A. Miller, Blair; Carl C. Miller, Omaha; Mrs. Walter Anderson, Blair; Mrs. Bert Spanton, Herman; also 29 grandchildren survive.

Mr. Miller had been a farmer all of his life until four years ago when he moved to Blair on account of failing health. He passed away at 2:00 a.m. last Saturday morning at Court View hospital at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 2 days.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating. Burial was in the Blair cemetery.
