MRS. EVA COOK DIES LATE MONDAY

HAD BEEN BEDFAST OVER YEAR AND ONE HALF

Mrs. Eva Cook passed away at her home on south Walker Avenue Monday evening following an illness of over a year and a half’s duration. The deceased as Eva Higley was born at Blair, March 22, 1883 and had spent her entire life in this city. June 21, 1905 she was married to Wilbur Cook of Fremont, and to this union one child, Mary, was born.

Mrs. Cook was in the employ of the Blair post office for seventeen years up until the time she was taken ill in May of 1930. She conducted her work very faithfully and made a wide acquaintance of friends all of whom will mourn her passing. She had been bedfast over a year and one half and although she was given every attention her condition showed no improvement. She was very cheerful through her illness and greatly enjoyed visiting with friends who called to see her.

Surviving her are the bereaved daughter, Mrs. Clyde C. Compton, two grandchildren, Charlotte Claire and Jack Compton; and a brother, Myron Higley, of Hollywood, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted at the Episcopal Church Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Gramley of Omaha, officiating, after which interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
