Former Blair Woman Buried At O’Neil

Funeral rites were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday at First Methodist Church in ‘Neill for Mrs. Belle Summers , 95, a former Blair woman. Mrs. Summers, the former Belle Cruickshank, is an aunt of Mrs. Tom Blanchard of Blair. Other survivors include a son Mark, with whom she lived, two sisters, Mrs. Jean Burnett of Medicine Bow, Wyo., and Mrs. Bess Marshall of Casper, Wyo., also a brother, Andrew Cruickshank of California. Mr. and Mrs. Cruickshank and daughter arrived in Omaha Monday unaware of the death earlier in the day of Mrs. Summers.

O’Neill’s Oldest Citizen, 95, Dies

Isabelle Summers, 95, who died Sunday at the home of her son, Frank, in O’Neill, was O’Neill’s oldest resident.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Methodist Church in O’Neill, and burial was in Prospect Hill cemetery.

Born in Scotland, February 6, 1869, she came to the U.S. at the age of 16 and lived at Blair. She was married to Miles Albert Summers in 1888. They moved to a farm near Page in 1892, where they lived until Mr. Summers died in 1934.

Surviving are six sons, W. A., of Bartlett, Mark of Elgin, Charles and Frank of O’Neill, Leslie of Page and Earl of Ewing; two sisters and two brothers; 32 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
