Phyllis Mae Barnes, 90, was born on Oct. 28, 1928, to Niels and Dora Hansen at their home in Howard County near Dannevirke, Neb. On June 21, 1953, Phyllis was married to Howard E. Barnes at the Lutheran Church in Blair. Phyllis passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the age of 90 years, five months and nine days while residing at Manilla Manor in Manilla, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Barnes; parents, Niels and Dora Hansen; brother, Dale Hansen; sister-in-law, Elna Lassen; brothers-in-law, Howard Lassen and Don Hochstetler; and two nephews, Craig and Mike.

She is survived by brother, Kenneth (Sharlene) Hansen of Denison, Iowa; nieces, Marsha, Michelle and Marie; sisters-in-law, Janice Hochstetler, and Kathleen Glinnsman; and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, with Order of the Eastern Star service by Naomi Chapter #121 at 7 p.m. all at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.

Interment at the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Memorials suggested to Alzheimer's Association or Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church or Solomon Masonic Lodge #10 AF&AM/Naomi Chapter #121 OES.
