Janice Marie (Hanson) Hall, the daughter of Ernest and Lillian (Kinnard) Hanson, was born December 19, 1934, in Estherville, Iowa. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 16 days.

She received her early years of education in the Halfa, Iowa, school, then in Estherville and graduating from Estherville High School in 1954.

On September 5, 1954, she was united in marriage to Clyde L. Hall at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Minnesota. The couple farmed south of Gruver, Iowa, for many years. They moved to Gruver in 1970 when Janice started working at the Good Samaritan Home in Estherville as an aide in the Dietary Department. In 1985, they moved to Richland Hills, Texas and Janice worked at McDonald’s. The couple returned to Estherville in 1998, to be near relatives of both Clyde and Janice.

They were members of Grandview Baptist Church in Estherville.

Left to cherish Janice’s memory are her husband of 64 years, Clyde; her sons, Mark (Judy); Jeffery (Xuebao), Robert (Lori); 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. Her son-in-law, Willie Frerichs; sisters, Betty Platter, Mary Jane (Bubs) Johnson, Carolyn (Hermie) Geerdes and Colleen (Chris) Blass; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Hanson, Joyce Hiney, Jewell Strube, Doris Klingbeil, Donna Lange, and Sharon Sents; brother-in-law, Clayton Hall; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christine Frerichs; great-granddaughter, Jersey Reinhardt; sister, Doris Alig and her husband, Leland; brother, John Hanson; brothers-in-law, Frank Hiney, Frank Klingbeil, Donald Strube; sister-in-law, Jannie Hall; nephew Tim Hanson and seven aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
