MRS. UTERMANN DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME

HAD LIVED IN WASHINGTON COUNTY FOR 50 YEARS

Mrs. Magdalena Utermann passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Jacob, west of Blair last Saturday evening following an illness of several months duration. As Magdalena Hagge she was born at Stafstedt, Schleswig Holstein, Germany, on February 20, 1857, and after being baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, she came to America in 1878, locating at Millard.

On November 27, 1879, she was united in marriage to Jurgen Johan Utermann and to this union two children were born, both of whom survive her. The husband died in April, 1903.

Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. H.H. Jacob of west of Blair; a son, Henry Utermann of Fremont; and eight grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. H.A. Nolte of Elkhorn, also survives her.

Funeral services were conducted from the Jacob home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. W.H. Underwood assisted by Rev. E.P. Booher of Kennard, officiating, after which interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.

MAGDALENA HAGGE CALLED

Magdalena Hagge was born Feb. 20, 1857 at Stafstedt, Schleswig Holstein, Germany and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Jacobs Saturday evening, Sept. 27 at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 7 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Juvenstedt, Holstein and at the age of 21 yeas came to this country directly to Millard, Neb.

On November 27, 1879 she was united in marriage to Jurgen Utermann and to this union two children were born, Mrs. Mary Jacobs of Kennard, Neb. and Henry Utermann of Fremont.

Her husband preceded her in death April 9, 1903.

She leaves to mourn her her children and eight grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. H. A. Nolte of Elkhorn, Neb., besides a large number of other relatives.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the H. H. Jacobs home with Rev. W. H. Underwood of Blair, and Rev. Booher of Kennard officiating and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
