Alice Elizabeth Caroline Bunz was born in rural Bennington on April 29, 1909, to Peter and Gertrude (Roesler) Bunz. She attended school in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. After attending Van Sant School of Business in Omaha, she worked for the United States Government in Civil Service positions in Omaha, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and New York City. She retired from the employ of the United States Air Force in 1969.

After her retirement, she was actively involved in the American Legion Auxiliary in Bennington as well as the V.F.W. Post 3421 (Lewis Black Post) in Omaha, where she was secretary for 12 years and also served as District President of the V. F. W.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clifford and Harold.

Survivors include three brothers, Donald of Omaha; Ted of Bennington; and Robert of El Cajon, California, as well as nieces and nephews.

She died on January 1, 1988 at the age of 78 years at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services were held on January 4, 1988, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bennington, with Pastor Knight Wells, presiding. Interment was at the Flower Hill Cemetery in rural Bennington.
