MRS. JOHN BECKLUN DEATH VICTIM MONDAY

Follows Husband’s Death By But A Few Months Buried Wednesday

Mrs. Ada Esther Becklun, wife of the late John Becklun, passed away last Monday, January 30th, at the Court View hospital following an illness of one week. The contributing cause of her death was heart trouble, coupled with other complications.

Mrs. Becklun was born in Wells, Minnesota March 30, 1875. Here she grew to womanhood and received her education, and for a term of years taught school. She was married to Jesse Hober of Wells, Minnesota in the spring of 1901, and to this marriage one daughter, Mrs. Cullen Wright, was born. The husband, after a lingering illness, passed away in 1906, and the wife turned to teaching again.

On January 14, 1911 she married John Becklun, prominent farmer and stock raiser of this county, and she and her daughter immediately came to make their home on the farm in the Rose Hill neighborhood.

To this second marriage a son, John Becklun, Jr., was born, who now occupies the home farm and with whom the mother made her home.

Mrs. Becklun was a woman of more than ordinary ability and of real Christian character, living the life in the real spirit, and was thus a much loved woman in her community.

Besides the daughter and son, she leaves two grandchildren and one sister of Wells, Minnesota and three brothers, one of Wells, Minnesota and two of Munroe, Oregon who grieve her parting.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Rose Hill church with Rev. Clark of Herman officiating, and interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
