Sheila Pille aged 92 passed away peacefully on May 15, 2019. Sheila was born on October 19, 1926, in Brisbane Australia. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; sons Brian and James; daughters-in-law Susan and Mary; son-in-law Larry Feldhacker; grandchildren Peter White and Jace Collins. She is survived by her children Joe (Ft Pierce, FL), Julie & Jim McCabe (Omaha), Kevin (Blair), Charles & Betty (Lincoln), Vince & Cindy (Ashland), Ed & Therese (Omaha), Mary White (Lincoln), Neil & Gigi (Springfield, MO), Anne & Scott Riha (Louisville), and Lyle &Teresa (Oakland); grandchildren Kirsten & Ty Dimeff, Jenny & Chris Collins, Laura Feldhacker, Dan Feldhacker, Keith & Rebecca Pille, Sarah & Scott Schmidt, Anna Pille, Allen Pille, Evan & Alexa Pille, Janae & Jim Robinson, Celeste Pille, Gretchen Pille and Grant Pille, Kristin & Heath Epperson, Erin Pille, Ian Pille, Andrew Pille, Jaisean Pille, Chakira Pille, Greg & Hannah White, Margaret White, Alex White, Arthur Pille, Avinash Pille, Sarah Riha, Lily Riha, Ellen & David Eriksen, Sean & Hollie Pille, Elizabeth & Bryan Dunn, Shannon Pille, Grace Pille and Jack Pille; great-grandchildren Kelsey and Shane Dimeff, Gavin, Kaylie, and Maggie Collins, Aliyiah and Brianna Canterbury, Edie and Willa Robinson, Allie, Luke, Levi and Kate Epperson, Oliver White, Ainsley and Drake Eriksen; Sheila's older siblings Brian Bourke, Clair Bourke, and younger siblings Margaret Thorogood and Pat Gledhill (John) all of Brisbane; her in-laws, Grace Mueggenberg, Ray Pille and Wilbur Manor, and generations of nieces and nephews.

Sheila (Bourke) Pille was the middle of five children. She met Arthur Pille while he was stationed in Australia serving the Army Air Corp during World War II. They married in Australia and had three children there, Brian, James and Joe. She emigrated to the Marshalltown, Iowa area in 1946. Sheila and Art moved from Iowa, where Julie and Kevin were born, to Blair in 1956, where Charles, Vince, Ed, Mary, Neil, Anne and Lyle were born. She became a US citizen on December 10, 1958.

She lived a very full life being the most loving child, sister, wife, mom, grandma, aunt, and friend, touching so many lives. Sheila was a very active volunteer in the Blair and Papillion Communities. In Blair, Sheila was a member of TOPS NE222 for over 50 years, the Grange and a 4-H club leader for many years. She directed the choir, played the organ and was part of the Altar Society for St Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Sheila served as a school board member and Blair Band Booster, chaperoning many band trips over the years. Shelia was awarded lifetime PTA membership. She was involved with the Blair Community Theatre, Omaha Community Playhouse, Theatre Arts Guild, Papillion LaVista Community Theatre, Lofte Community Theatre and many school theater programs whether serving on the board, acting, singing, dancing, sewing costumes, or finding properties and helping with sets. Sheila worked as a school bus driver, daycare provider, and seamstress before becoming the secretary to the Washington County Attorney, later to the president of Dana College and next in Cardiology at UNMC. She retired from Mutual of Omaha Creative Services in 1993 moving to Papillion soon after. There she played the piano at many nursing homes, knitted prayer shawls for St Columbkille Parish, continued sewing and was a founding member of the Papillion Burger Belles.

Whether you knew her as Sheila, Mom, Grandma, Auntie, or Mrs. Pille, we know you share in our grief and are comforted that she is in heaven.

VISITATION: 5-8 pm Monday, May 20 at Crosby Funeral Home 119 & Center in Omaha with Rosary at 7 pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10 am Tuesday at St Columbkille in Papillion, with luncheon immediately following. GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 2 pm at the Blair Cemetery. Memorials to Retirement Fund for Religious, Royal Family Kids Camp- Lancaster county, Blair.
