Ronald Gene Stork was born on November 5, 1937 in Blair, Nebraska to Everett and Verna (Wulf) Stork. He passed away on May 17, 2019 in Sun City, Arizona after a seven month struggle with heart related health issues.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29th, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, May 28th from 5 to 8 at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Ron was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. He attended Orum School for his first two years of schooling and then St. Paul’s School. Ron graduated from Blair High School with the Class of 1955. After graduation Ron began farming with his father. He married Judy Jones on August 1, 1959 at First Lutheran Church which they joined and where Ron was an usher and served on the Church Council. They were the parents of two children, Shari and Scott.

4-H was an important part of growing up in the Stork Family. Everett organized the Orum Feeders 4-H Club in 1949 for the neighborhood friends. Ron later was the leader of the club and then his son Scott took over leadership as the club continued to be in existence for over 40 years. The highlight of Ron’s 4-H club days was showing the Grand Champion Steer at the Ak-Sar-Ben Livestock Show in 1957. Farming and feeding hogs and cattle were an important part of Ron’s life. He was a member of the Washington County Livestock Feeders. In his spare time when not working on the farm, he enjoyed boating and snowmobiling. About forty years ago he began golfing and became an avid golfer. He was known to golf in later years as many as 6 days a week. He also enjoyed playing cards. For the past twenty or so years, Ron & Judy have been “snowbirds” enjoying the warmer weather (and golf) in Peoria, Arizona during the winter months.

Ron is survived by his wife Judy of nearly 60 years, daughter Shari and her husband Scott McCain of Fremont, son Scott and his wife Nancy of Orum. Grandchildren are Derek (Anna) Stork, Lindsey McCain (Mike) Kindler and, Jarett (Katlynn) Stork, Lucas (Olivia) McCain, and Justin Stork. Great Grandchildren Parker & Brooks McCain, Brinley Kindler, and Scott Levi Stork. Siblings Roger (Donna) Stork, Susan (Jim) Bensen, Janice (Tom) Lippincott. Sister-in-law Sue (Dave) Barker. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and golfing buddies. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Verna Stork, parents-in-law Wallace and Maude Jones, and brother-in-law Russ Jones.

Memorials may be given to Washington County Fair or First Lutheran Church.
