Walter F. “Sonny” Langbehn, Jr., 80, of Elkhorn, NE died on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Life Care Center in Elkhorn, NE. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Covenant Church located at 201 N. 90th St. in Omaha, NE. The funeral for Sonny will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield. The visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the church and will run until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements.

Sonny was born in Omaha, NE on January 3, 1937, the son of Walter and Jewell (Naye) Langbehn, Sr. He grew up in Omaha and attended North High School. He was united in marriage to Donna M. Lundin on May 2, 1964 at Wakefield, NE. Sonny was a skilled mechanic who enjoyed working on his 1957 Triumph Motorcycle. He won many prizes and trophies showing his bike across the country. Sonny worked for many years with Carlisle Builders, where he constructed commercial buildings. He enjoyed boating with his friends on the Missouri River and had a life full of joy with his wife of 53 years.

Sonny is survived by his wife Donna of Elkhorn, NE, a sister Joyce Petkosek of Albuquerque, NM, nephew John Petkosek and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Henry Beam a brother-in-law John Petkosek and niece Laura Petkosek.
