CHAS. HUSK DIES OF SUDDEN ATTACK

FATHER OF SEVEN SONS, HAD FARMED BLAIR ACREAGE 34 YEARS

Charles L. Husk, who had lived in Washington county since 1896 and farmed the same acreage for 34 years until his retirement last spring, died suddenly Monday afternoon. He was 76 years old.

Funeral services are being held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Blair Methodist church, and interment will be in Blair cemetery. The service will be conducted by the Rev. A.W. Clarke of Herman and the Rev. Sidney McCaig of Blair.

Father of seven sons, all of whom survive, Mr. Husk was born at Avoca, Wis., on August 29, 1869. He moved to western Iowa in 1880, to Burt county in 1883. Since 1896 he had lived in this county.

He was married to Jennie Cook on November 11, 1903. Eight children were born to the couple, seven sons surviving and an infant daughter dying in February, 1916. The sons are Burr and Clarkson of Blair, Lloyd of Tekamah, Harry of Arlington, Donald in France, Eugene in the South Pacific, Wallace home from a Louisiana army camp. The widow also survives, as do 11 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Bennett of Rudd, Ia., and Mrs. Sara Rathbun of Omaha.

Mr. Husk held membership in the Blair I.O.O.F. lodge for 45 years. He served, also , on the school board of Pleasant View school over a long period of time.

CHAS. L. HUSK DIED SUDDENLY MONDAY

Charles L. Husk, well known retired Washington County farmer, died suddenly last Monday afternoon, the victim of a heart attack.

Deceased was born at Avoca, Wisconsin on August 29, 1869, and when a boy the family moved to Iowa. In 1890, Charles came to Nebraska and resided in Burt County until 1896 when he moved to Washington County. Since that time, until his retirement about a year ago, he farmed.

On November 11, 1903 he was married to Miss Jennie Cook, and to them seven sons and one daughter were born. The daughter passed away when four months old, but the seven sons, with Mrs. Husk, survive. The sons are: Charles Burr and Clarkson Wilbur of Blair; Lloyd Arthur of Tekamah; Wallace in the armed forces and stationed at Camp Livingston, Louisiana; Harry Benjamin of Arlington; Donald Morris in the armed forces in France; and Eugene Raymond, also in the armed forces in the Dutch East Indies.

Besides the children and the bereaved wife, Mr. Husk leaves two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Bennett of Rudd, Iowa and Mrs. Sarah H. Rathbun of Omaha.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at two o’clock at the Methodist church with Rev. A. W. Clarke officiating, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery. At the grave the Odd Fellow Lodge will be in charge of the ceremonies, he having been a member of that organization for many years.
