Buried in Kennard Cemetery

Published in the Pilot February 4, 1920

Many Blair people regret to hear of the death of John Bell Burgess, of Kennard, which occurred Monday afternoon. He has been sick for over a year but the end came rather more suddenly than was expected of Bright's Disease. He was a native of Kentucky and was 67 years of age. His wife was formerly Miss Helen Schafer, a sister of Frank Schafer who survives him; also two sons and three daughters. The funeral is to be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow, Thursday, at the Methodist Church in Kennard. The Pilot extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives and friends.

Note: The Vig Files at the Danish American Archives lists his children as William, John, Myrtle Horn, Etta Fairchild, and Opie Konvalin.
