MRS. CHAS. DAVIS HAS PASSED AWAY

Mrs. Chas. Davis died at her home near Herman at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 27, 1924, aged 66 years, 10 months and 13 days.

Lina Olson was born at Highland, Iowa county, Wis., February 12, 1858, and came with her parents to Iowa in 1865 and on January 1, 1877, was united in marriage to Charles Davis at Blair, Nebr.

She was the mother of seven children, three of whom preceded her to that better land, Annie passing away at the age of four years and the others were mere infants. Mrs. Davis had been in poor health for several months and confined to her bed since Dec. 6. All that kind hearts could suggest was done, but the death angel hovered low and two days after Christmas the life of this home-loving wife and mother came to a close. She had finished her work on earth and went to claim the reward promised to all who remain faithful to the end. She was a most excellent woman, not only in her family but among her neighbors.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon and attended by a large circle of friends. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church when a child and had ever kept the faith. Interment in the little cemetery near the home place. Surviving are her husband, Chas. Davis; and three sons, Walter living near Spiker; Oscar of Emerson; and Jesse and Laura near the home place, also three brothers and three sisters, Gilbert and William Olson, near Herman; Joe Olson on the home place, Mrs. Tillie Wachter, Omaha; Mrs. Joe Johnson, near Blair; and Mrs. Mary Rosenbaum, of Kennard.
