Mrs. Edward Pyles died at their home on east Colfax street last Thursday, November 13th, and the funeral was held at the Methodist church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. O.U. McProud officiating. Mrs. Pyles was severely burned some time ago, and she never fully recovered from her injuries. She had been keeping house on the Peter Tyson farm, where her husband also worked, but had to give up the position and they moved to this city. Leah Slayback was born near Kennard May 22nd, 1884, so was just past 40 years of age. She was married to Edward Pyles on Sept. 30th, 1903, and three children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. So there is only the husband and an only daughter, aged 14, left in the home. They have the sincere sympathy of many friends, in the loss of wife and mother at the early age of 40 years.
