Ft. Calhoun Woman, 100 Years Old, Buried Monday

Mrs. Sade C. Frahm, a lifetime resident of Ft. Calhoun, died at her home in Ft. Calhoun on Saturday, June 7th. She was one hundred years old.

Mrs. Frahm was born on a farm southwest of Ft. Calhoun in the Green School District on October 29, 1874. Her parents were pioneers in the Ft. Calhoun area. Her father was Austin W. Beales and her mother’s maiden name was Hannah M. Hall.

The parents had purchased a farm south of Ft. Calhoun on the ground which is now Fort Atkinson, in the 1880s. They farmed there for many years.

Mrs. Frahm was married to Fred H. Frahm in 1905. They operated a general merchandise store in Ft. Calhoun until the time of Mr. Frahm’s death in 1949. They were parents of a daughter, Catharine C. Frahm, who has been associated with Community Memorial Hospital in Blair for a number of years. She has continued to live in Ft. Calhoun and make a home for her mother.

Mrs. Frahm was a member of the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair. She was a charter member of Naomi Chapter of the Eastern Star 121 and was a member of the lodge for 77 years. She was a graduate of Ft. Calhoun High School with the class of 1894. This was the second graduating class of the school, the high school having been established in 1893.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair Monday afternoon and burial was made in the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery. The Rev. Father Robert Bee conducted the service.
