Bass, Justice A. 4/12/1925

15 Apr., 1925 - The Pilot

The fatal illness of Mr. Bass of the Home was a matter of deep distress, anxiety to all. He had soon recovered from the first attack and seemed well back to usual health. But some three weeks ago he had a relapse and steadily weakened to the end. Justice A. Bass was born in Illinois December 8 1854, and when he was 18 years of age with his parents moved to Iowa. Later he was married to Eva Waugh, to which union 5 children were born, two of whom survive him. In 1897 Mr. Bass moved to Omaha and engaged in carpenter work and contracting. In 1898 he was happily married to Nancy Cole. Mr. Bass has been a busy, energetic man of many interests. Not only did he succeed at his regular trade, but was a good gardener and was widely interested in the affairs of the day, and especially interested in his church. He was at the head of the Crowell Home garden last year and made his work tell for much in providing abundant supplies of garden products. His decease will be greatly felt by all who knew him and especially his devoted companion, who has the sympathy of the entire community.
