Roger L. Bell, 65, died Aug. 1, 2011, at his residence near Rockwell City, Iowa. Funeral services were Aug. 3, in Iowa, and interment was at the Rosehill Cemetery in Orum.

Roger Lee Bell was born July 14, 1946, at Clarion, Iowa, to Archie and Dorothy (Sennefelder) Bell.

He graduated from Dows High School in 1964. He attended classes for electronic studies and also became a certified welder.

On Feb. 21, 1970, he married Cheryl Tuttle in Blair.

He was in the salvage business for most of his life. In 2004, the couple made their home near Rockwell City.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Melody Bell, Travis and Kathryn Bell, and Tricia Bell, all of Rockwell City; two granddaughters; five brothers and their families, Archie Bell of Boone, Iowa, Gene Bell of Laclede, Idaho, Fred Bell of Belmond, Iowa, Charles Bell of Dows, Iowa, James Bell of Latimer, Iowa; three sisters and their families, Doris Hodge of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Viola Claude of Dows, and Karen Thayer of Belmond; mother-in-law, Betty Tuttle of Rockwell City; sister- and brothers-in-law and families, Pat Garretson of Blair, Jim Tuttle of Omaha, and John Tuttle, also of Blair; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Vern Tuttle.
