Beistline, Thomas P. 10/16/1925 Note: Spelling from tombstone 28 Oct., 1925 - The Pilot We are in receipt of word of the death of Thos. P. Beistlin on Friday, October 16th at the home of his brother, Richard, in Portland, Oregon, and burial was made in Rose City cemetery October 19th. He was in his 68th year and had been seriously ill for several months before he left here. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. W. S. Pershing of Limon, Colo, and Mrs. Clyde Potter of Arapaho, Neb., and two brothers, Richard and James of California. He was born at Carlyle, Penn., January 29th, 1854. He came to this county with his parents in the early days and lived on a farm some six miles west of town for many years. In recent years he has made his home in Blair, leaving here a few months ago, following a serious illness with complications from “flu”. His brother, Richard, and wife came to care for him and when he was able they took him to their home in Portland, where the end came even sooner than they expected. He had many friends here who will long remember him as a good and worthy citizen, whose life was not lived in vain. Mr. and Mrs. R. Beistlin wish to extend their thanks to the Blair friends who helped care for him during his long illness. ~~~Obituary courtesy of the Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society.
