Printed in the December 2, 1925 Pilot, Blair, Nebraska Word came to relatives here last Saturday morning announcing the death of Louis Wachter of New Plymouth, Idaho, which occurred at 1:30 Saturday morning. Mr. Wachter was formerly of Herman. He had lived here for a good many years and was loved and respected by all. He was engaged in the implement business here for a number of years and was a member of our school board for a long time beside other offices he held. He always took an active part in the activities of our community and always stood for the good things of our town. He was 68 years of age at the time of his death, but he had been in poor health for a long time suffering from a cancer which finally caused his death. His oldest daughter, Miss Laura of California had been at his bedside for a week, and was with him when the end came. His other two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Herferth and Miss Mardell and his son, William, are all living in New York City. The many friends here of the family are grieved to learn of the death of this kind and loving man. His brother, George Wachter and wife of Pender left Saturday for New Plymouth to be present at the funeral. ~~~Obituary courtesy of the Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society.
