Philip Warner Stilts died at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. B. Carter, last Friday evening at about 9 o’clock. He had been a sufferer with heart trouble for some time, but had been somewhat improved it was thought. He sat down in a chair to read the paper and fell to the floor, death resulting almost immediately. The funeral was held at the Carter home at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. A. D. Smalley officiating. Burial was in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery. He was born in Ft. Calhoun Dec. 25th, 1860, so was 64 years, 5 months and 4 days old. In 1880 he went to western part of the state, where he lived for a number of years. Later he went to Oregon, coming here some six months ago. He is survived by one brother, E. Ernest of Fondus, Colorado and one sister, Mrs. J. B. Carter. Also a daughter, Margaret, of Alliance, Neb. The following out of town people were here for the funeral service: Mrs. D. F. Wagner of Osceola, Mrs. H. J. Marrow of College View, nieces of the deceased; Mrs. John Trisler of Fort Calhoun, a nephew and his wife, Mrs. Mabel Traux and Mr. and Mrs. Stenager of Omaha, cousins; Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fowler of Omaha, Dr. and Mrs. Cramer and daughter of Viborg, S. D., and Mrs. and Mrs. William Brunton of Craig, Nebraska.
