Funeral services for Julia Ackerman, 79, of Blair, who died August 29, 1981, in Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, at the Herman Methodist Church.

Rev. Barbara Schenkel will conduct the services. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Julia Ackerman was born November 20, 1901, at Blair to Julius and Margaret Petersen Ziegler. She was married to Melvin Ackerman.

She worked at the Blair Nutrition Site after it was begun in Blair. She also received the Pioneer Farm Award in Burt County for a family farm that had been in her husband's family for over 100 years. She and her husband lived on the farm from 1920 until his death, when she moved to 243 So. 17th Street.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1953. Her daughter, Julie Ellen Bieber also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three grandchildren; one brother, William Ziegler, Blair; and three sisters, Marguerite Ziegler, Blair; Louise Gummus, Stanton, Nebraska; and Emma Martin, Indianola, Iowa.

Pallbearers will be Robert Boelter, Bill Hunt, Ron Keithley, Randy Hart, Russell Jessen and Bob Petersen.

Grace Husk will be organist. Goldie Yowell will provide the vocal music.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
