Rasmus X. Rasmussen died very suddenly at the Blair hospital at about 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon of diabetes. He had been ailing for some time, but was able to be about his work on the farm near Orum. Sunday he had a bad attack and was brought to the hospital Monday evening, death coming to him in less than 24 hours. The funeral will be held at the house and St. Paul’s church at 1 o’clock Friday afternoon, conducted by his pastor, Rev. P J. Reinertson and Rev. Ulvilden of Omaha. Mr. Rasmussen was born on the old homestead where he had lived his entire life of almost 47 years. He was married to Miss Laura Larsen in may of 1899, whose death occurred in January a year ago. He is survived by two children, Mr. George Rasmussen of the Orum neighborhood and Raymond who lives at home. Also one brother, H. Chris Rasmussen who moved from Blair this spring back on his farm near Orum, and four sisters, Mrs. Chris Nelson, Mrs. Richard Nelson of Orum, Mrs. Carl Jensen of Denver, Col., and Mrs. Guy Hinkley of this city. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church and was always a sturdy, upright citizen who will be greatly missed by all who know him.
