#1-26 Dec., 1929 - The Enterprise

This community was saddened to learn of the death of Miss Esther Hansen, who passed away Friday night at the Lord Lister Hospital at Omaha. She underwent an operation for a serious case of appendicitis last Monday morning. A second operation was performed later in the week. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thorvald Hansen and was past sixteen years of age, and has spent her entire life here. She attended Hill Creek school and graduated from the tenth grade. She was a bright, lovable girl and will be greatly missed in the home and community. Besides her parents, she is survived by three brothers, Carl, Einar and Clarence, and four sisters, Mrs. Ella Weber, Mrs. Lillie Christensen, Agnes and Francis Mae. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Baptist church, Rev. Larsen of the Danish Lutheran church officiating. Burial was made in the local cemetery.

#2-26 Dec., 1929 - The Pilot-Tribune Esther Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thorwald Hansen, who was taken to a hospital in Omaha last week and operated upon for appendicitis, died Friday evening. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Baptist church. She leaves to mourn her death her parents and several brothers and sister and many other relatives.
