Hans Behmer was born near Herman May 8th, 1873 and died at Delta, Colorado May 2, 1930, aged 56 years, 11 months and 24 days. At the age of 18 he went west and has lived in Wyoming and Colorado since, except occasional visits to his old home. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Walter Davis of Herman, one brother, John, who was with him in Colorado, and a half brother, Chris Speck of Tekamah. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church here Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Richmond. Interment was made in the Herman cemetery.

Note: The Vig Files at the American Archives records his parents as Detlef and Mary Behmer buried in the Thone Cemetery and his brother Charles buried in the Herman Cemetery but there are no records of Hans burial in either cemetery.
