SWAN P. PETERSON

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, May 13, from the M. E. church for Mr. Swan P. Peterson of this city. Rev. Carl Bader, pastor of the church, had charge of the services. Miss Lilah Wright, Miss Gertrude Mead and Mrs. W. V. Wright furnished the music. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery.

Swan P. Peterson was born in Sweden Sept. 19, 1837. He was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church. He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Pearson May 15, 1863. To this union six children were born, two of them dying in infancy.

In the winter of 1872 Mr. Peterson brought his family to the United States of America. For nearly four years he lived near Blair, then moved to a farm three miles northwest of Kennard, where he lived until about twenty years ago when he moved to Blair.

Mrs. Peterson passed away February 9, 1922. Since her death Mr. Peterson and his son, Charles, have made their home together at 406 North Park street.

Although subject to severe periodical attacks of rheumatism, Mr. Peterson has been up and about most of the time until a week before his death which occurred Sunday, May 11th, at 9 a.m. His age was 92 years, 7 months, and 22 days.

He is survived by three sons: Nils of Kennard, Peter and Charles of Blair, and one daughter, Mrs. A. N. Anderson of Kennard, with other relatives and many friends who cherish his memory.
