Services were held in Monteca, California, Monday, January 16, for George J. Frain, who died January 11, 1984, of an apparent heart attack. Burial was at Park View Cemetery at Manteca.

George J. Frain was born June 11, 1919, in Washington County. He attended school in Blair and graduated from Blair High School.

He married Helen Kinart, also from the Blair area. They lived the first years of their marriage in Nebraska and Illinois, during which time he acquired a pilot’s license.

He served in Italy with the Army during World War II.

In 1951, he moved to Southern California where he continued his trade as machinist. After living there eight years, they relocated in Northern California and settled in Manteca where he started his own business, the Omni-Craft.

He was well-known for his wood and metal machine shop and antique renovating. He also helped establish his own garage, the Double A Truss business.

He was a life member of the First Christian Church in Manteca where he served as deacon, treasurer and trustee. He was instrumental in the building of the bell chime tower.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen, and four daughters, Cleo as well of Manteca, Donna Michael of Costa, Mrs. Karren Raichie of ?den; and Sylvia Silveirs, Manteca.

Two brothers, Garold of Manteca and Carl of Los Angeles; three sisters, Edith Lee of Manteca, Alta Marsh of Nebraska, and Elma Kuhr of Kennard, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends in the Blair area also survive him.

Memorials may be given to First Christian Church at Louise Avenue and Union Road, Manteca, California; or the Shriners’ Hospital for Crippled Children, 1701 19 Avenue, San Francisco, California 94122.
