Funeral services for the late Chas. E. Miller were held at the M. E. church at Kennard Monday at 2 p.m. Interment at the Arlington cemetery followed. Chas. E. Miller was born in Jefferson City, Iowa January 3, 1876 and passed away at 4 p.m. Friday at the Methodist hospital in Omaha following an operation of two days before. He conducted a shoe repair shop here for the past four years and was at his shop until he went to the hospital three weeks ago. He lived in Arlington several years prior to coming here. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Earl in Arkansas, and Leonard at home; two daughters, Eva and Dorothy at home; a sister and brother in Indiana.

KENNARD MAN DIES FRIDAY

Death Follows Operation three Weeks Ago

Charles E. Miller of Kennard died at an Omaha hospital last Friday afternoon following an operation performed a few days before. The deceased was a former Arlington resident and had operated a shoe shop at Kennard for the past four years. Three weeks ago he took sick and was taken to an Omaha hospital.

Surviving him are his bereaved wife, two sons, Earl of Arkansas and Leonard of Kennard, two daughters, Eva and Dorothy at home, a sister and a brother in Indiana. Funeral services were held at Kennard Monday afternoon after which burial was made in the Arlington cemetery.

#3 Thursday, 21 Nov., 1929 - The Pilot-Tribune Kennard folks were greatly shocked Friday evening to learn of the death of Chas. Miller at a hospital in Omaha at 4:00 p.m. that day. He had undergone a severe operation on Thursday and was apparently improving until death claimed him. Mr. Miller came here from Arlington about five years ago, and has conducted a shoe repairing shop here before going to the hospital on Sunday, two weeks before his death. His bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, interment being made at the Arlington cemetery.

The Methodist church was well filled Monday afternoon with relatives and friends, who had gathered to pay their last respects to Chas. E. Miller who had passed away at an Omaha hospital last Friday afternoon. Rev. E.P. Booher was in charge of the services and a mixed choir sang several beautiful songs. Burial was made at the Arlington cemetery.

Earl Miller left Friday for his work at Temple, Texas, after a several days stay with his mother, Mrs. Chas. Miller, Eva, Leonard and Dorothy. He was called here a week ago by the death of his father, Chas. Miller, on November 14. Earl's aunt returned to her home at Kansas City last Sunday morning.

Funeral services for Charles Miller, of Kennard, were conducted last Monday afternoon at the Kennard M.E. church, and burial took place in the Arlington cemetery by the side of his son, Carl, who passed away nine years ago.
