Billie J. Burke, 60, of rural Blair, died Dec. 26, 2007, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Memorial services were Monday, Dec. 31, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Billie J. Conn was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Great Falls, Mont., to Charles E. and Mary (Maki) Conn. She was a 1965 graduate of Montana State University where, in 1969, she received her degree in nursing.

On July 11, 1978, she married Peter Burke.

Mrs. Burke spent more than 35 years in the nursing field as a surgical nurse. She worked for 10 years at Bergan-Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

She was an avid animal lover, enjoying cats and dogs, but had a very special love for horses. She truly enjoyed teaching horsemanship and riding.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; parents, Charles and Mary Conn; and a sister, Betty J. McIntosh.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda C. Hable.
