SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR MURIEL BURNS

Services were held Sunday evening and Monday morning for Muriel Burns, Fort Calhoun resident, who passed away suddenly at her home on April 16, 1982. Rosary was said at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18th and the funeral mass was held Monday, April 19th at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun with Father Daniel Galas officiating. Interment was made in Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gayle Maine, Don Earwood, Ralph Givens, Ben Oliver, Bob Petersen and Jack Worm. Honorary pallbearers were Dean Coe and Charles Miller. Organist was Mary Ann Lukasiewicz. Sievers Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Muriel Grace Hobday was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 1, 1916 to Ellen Chatfield (Jenner) and Arthur Hobday. She was married to Robert Leo Burns in Omaha, Nebraska on November 16, 1940 and they had lived in Fort Calhoun for the last 22 years.

Mrs. Burns is survived by her husband, Robert; four sons, Gary and Paddy of Omaha, Kevin of Elkhorn, and Tim of Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Dave (Dixie) Humphrey of Fort Calhoun; one brother, Bernard Hobday of Waverly, Ohio; and eleven grandchildren. One son, Robert L. Burns, preceded her in death.
