Donald W. Burr, Sr., 69, of Harlingen, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 26, at Hennessey-Schumacher Funeral Home in Logan, Iowa. Interment was at the Magnolia Cemetery. Military honors were provided by the American Legion Post of Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Donald W. Burr, Sr., was born Jan 18, 1932 in Decatur to Robert and Anna (Blackerby) Burr.

Mr. Burr served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On Aug. 7, 1978, he married Ina Stevens in Fremont. The couple moved from Buffalo, Mo., to the Logan area six years ago.

Mr. Burr worked for H.P. Smith Ford in the auto body department as the main car painter. He enjoyed coon hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Ina of Logan, his children, Susan and Steve Lee of Bremerton, Wash., Vickie and Brian Bourque of Hedrick Iowa, Linda and Mike Blessing of Logan, Lorri and Steve Hendricks of Blair, Donald W. Burr Jr. of Pekin, Ill., and Jason Burr of Missouri Valley, sisters, Joyce Mull of Omaha and Gladys Walker of Galena, Kan., a brother, John Burr of Renton, Wash., 29 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Hennessey-Schumacher Funeral Home in Logan was in charge of arrangements.
