Dedicated Wife and Mother

Nova L. Davidson, 45, died July 30, 2011, at her home in Louisville, Ky.

A memorial service was held Aug. 4, at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville.

Nova Lynn (Hibdon) Davidson was a dedicated wife and mother who touched many lives just by her day-to-day contact with the people around her. She was not only a great mother to her three children, but was their teacher, mentor, encourager, gaming partner, and overall best friend. She had a wonderful way of balancing the discipline of mom and the fun-loving companionship of a friend. She was also a wonderful wife, companion and caretaker, always serving as the voice of reason when times were challenging.

She dedicated her life to staying at home and teaching her children, giving them the highest quality of education while keeping the focus on God and how He works through each of the subjects. While providing this for her own children, she saw the need to help reach out to others who were homeschooling. She partnered with a friend to create the Raymore Home Educators as her mission to expand opportunities for home-schooled children and their families. She went on to be active in multiple Home School Associations, including building OFCHE (O'Fallon Christian Home Educators) from the group in O'Fallon, Mo.

Her daughter, Alycia, has juvenile diabetes and Mrs. Davidson was constantly working to support finding a cure. She was active in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for the last 17 years, and helped bring together people for this great cause. She was not only able to raise money, but built large teams of friends, who had a great time raising awareness of this disease.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; three children, Alycia, Jeremy and Maggie; mother, Dora B. Hibdon; brothers, Tim and Gene Hibdon and sister, Brenda Pardekooper; and Doug and Peg Davidson of Blair, who loved and respected her as a loving daughter-in-law.

Memorials are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 153 Thierman Lane, Louisville, KY, 40207.
