Services are 10:30 a.m today (Tuesday) at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. Timothy Gierke and Rev. Art Hill are officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Busch was born Dec. 16, 1916, near Winslow, Neb., to Charles and Pauline (Wittmann) Busch. He was baptized in the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Winslow. He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. He grew up on a farm in the Hooper/Winslow area, receiving his education in the Winslow School and the Immanuel Lutheran School. On Feb. 4, 1940, he married Doris Hilgenkamp in the Immanuel Lutheran Church. They lived on different farms until moving to a farm east of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1953. They retired in 1988 and moved into Fremont.

He was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he had served in various offices and on boards of the church. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont at the time of his death.

Survivors are his wife, Doris; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Norma Busch of Fremont; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol and Don Meier of Hooper and Connie Busch of Lansdale, Penn.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Gretchen Mueller of Hooper.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.

LaVerne Busch, 81, of Fremont died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 16, 1916, near Winslow. He grew up on the farm in the Hooper/Winslow area, receiving his education in the Winslow school and the Immanuel Lutheran School.

Busch married Doris Hilgenkamp Feb. 4, 1940 east of Winslow. They lived on different farms until moving to a farm east of Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1953. They retired in 1988, and moved into Fremont.

He had been a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he had served in various offices and boards of the church. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Fremont.

Survivors include: his wife; a son, Larry (and wife, Norma) Busch of Fremont; two daughters, Carol (Mrs. Don) Meier of Hooper and Connie Busch of Lansdale, Penn; a sister, Gretchen Mueller of Hooper; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont with Revs. Timothy Gierke and Art Hill officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends 6:30-8 p.m. The visitation will continue one hour before service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
