Services for Edward D. Butcher, 83 of Blair, who died December 12, 1995 at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16 at the Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine.
Edward D. Butcher was born March 17, 1912 at Little Sioux, Iowa. He grew up in Woodbine and received his education in the rural school there. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He worked for Armour Packing Company for 22 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1251 in Blair.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty of Blair; daughter, Shirley Butcher, Sharon (Mrs. Ron) Kelley and a son David (Marie) Butcher, all of Omaha; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
