GEORGE HART LAID TO REST TUESDAY

Died Saturday After Illness of Only Few Hours Duration

The funeral of George Hart, who passed away at his home a few miles northwest of Herman last Saturday following a few hours illness, was held Tuesday at the Legion hall in Herman and was largely attended.

Geo. W. Hart was born at Washington, Ind. July 1, 1867 and spent his boyhood in Iowa, coming to Nebraska in 1884. In 1892 he was married to Josie A. Stokes of Herman and to them were born four children: James S. Hart of Pomona, Calif.; Carl S. and Thelma E. at home, and George T. who died in infancy. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Holland of Springfield, S. D., two brothers, James of Pella, Iowa and L. G. of Miltonvale, Kansas.

He was afflicted with diabetes, but had been enjoying his usual health until Friday night when he complained of being sick at this stomach, and died Saturday.

Mr. Hart was a man’s man, a staunch friend, a good husband and father, and an exemplary citizen. He will be greatly missed, not only by his wife and children, but by those he numbered among his friends.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Herman and the body was laid to rest with Masonic rites.
