MRS. BROOKS IS BURIED SATURDAY

Died Thursday After Illness of Lengthy Duration

Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks passed away at the home of Mrs. and Mrs. D. A. Compton last Thursday after a lengthy illness. As Elizabeth Thompson, she was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 8, 1865, and the following year she removed with her parents to Omaha. In 1874 the family moved to a farm two and a half miles south of Blair.

The deceased was married to W. F. Brooks July 14, 1884, and to this union one child, the late Mrs. A. R. Beales, was born. Mrs. Beales died November 10, 1922. Mr. Brooks passed away January 18, 1918. Mrs. Brooks was possessed of a very sunny disposition, and although she was bedfast most of the time for the past few years, she was always cheerful and patient. She was highly thought of by a large circle of friends who mourn her passing.

Surviving her are three grandchildren, Audrey, Austin and Jane Beales, all of this city; five brothers, John F. Thompson of Omaha; Dan, William, Frank and James Thompson of this city; and three sisters, Mrs. A. W. Rose of this city, Mrs. Jennie Leach of Seal Beach, California and Mrs. U. S. Cornwell of Walthill.

Funeral services were conducted from the Episcopal church last Saturday afternoon, Rev. B. S. Daugherty officiating, after which interment was made in Blair cemetery. A profusion of floral tributes were indicative of the high esteem in which Mrs. Brooks had been held.
