MRS. JAHNEL DIES WEDNESDAY

Body Taken to Sterling, Illinois For Burial

Mrs. Sophia Jahnel died at her home on west Colfax street last Wednesday afternoon following an illness of lengthy duration. The deceased was born at Trennwurth, near Marne, Holstein, Germany on November 1, 1851, and in 1873 she came to America locating at Sterling, Illinois. In 1875 she was united in marriage to A. J. Alberts, and to this union two sons were born. Mr. Alberts died in 1903. Six years later she was married to Frank Jahnel, and the following year they moved to Blair where they have since resided.

Mrs. Johnel had been an active worker in the Lutheran church and held a wide acquaintance of friends who thought very highly of her. A funeral service was conducted from the Lutheran church on west Lincoln street last Friday afternoon, Rev. H. C. Jul. Frese having charge of the service. On Saturday another service was held at Sterling, Illinois, after which interment was made in the Sterling cemetery.

Surviving her are two sons, Albert Alberts of Sante Ana, California and John Alberts of Chicago, Ill. Four stepsons and four stepdaughters also survive her.
