3 Oct., 1929 - The Pilot Tribune

Last Wednesday morning the Crowell Home family lost one of its most beloved members when Mrs. Anne Hanlen died after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Hanlen has been with us nearly a year, coming from Winner, South Dakota in December of 1928, and during her brief stay with us she won the love and friendship of all in the Home. Her ever ready smile and cheerful disposition will be greatly missed by the Home folks. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon from the Home. Dr. J. G. Shick was in charge of the services with Rev. Carl Bader assisting. The Crowell Home quartette sang three of her favorite songs which was very impressive. Her two sons, Wayne Hanlen of Grant, Neb. and Don Hanlen of Winner, South Dakota, came Thursday evening and remained until after the funeral also. Burial was made in the Crowell Home lots in the Blair cemetery.
