#1-1 Aug., 1929 - The Pilot-Tribune

Mrs. Henry Schormann, who has lived in the Arlington vicinity for a number of years, passed away Sunday morning, July 21st, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. August Strenghener, with whom she and her husband had lived for a number of years. She was laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery Tuesday afternoon, July 23rd, services being held in St. Paul’s church of which she was a devoted member. She had been an invalid for a number of years, but death was caused by a paralytic stroke. She was born in 1850 in Germany, and came to this country in 1898 with her husband and family. She was the mother of ten children, 5 sons and 5 daughters, of whom two sons and 5 daughters, together with her aged husband, 27 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, remain to mourn her passing. She also has a brother and sister still living in Germany. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

#2-25 July, 1929 - The Enterprise

Mrs. Henry Schormann was born at Hollenstedt, Germany, on March 12, 1850 and died near Arlington July 21, 1929 following a short illness. On Jan. 9, 1868 Louisa Gehrke was married to Henry Schormann. In 1898 she, with her family, immigrated to U.S.A., settling on a farm near Rockville, Nebr. in the fall of 1908 she and her husband moved to Arlington where they made their home with their daughter, Mrs. August Stranghoener. Last Wednesday, following a paralytic stroke, she became unconscious, and passed away Sunday at 11 a.m., without having regained consciousness, at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 9 days. Three sons preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, two sons, Henry of Omaha, August of Staplehurst; five daughters, Mrs. Louisa Jacobs of Haystorm, Mrs. Fred Scheer, Mrs. Albert Sperling, Mrs. August Stranghoener and Miss Rosa Schormann, all of Arlington vicinity. Twenty seven grandchildren, one brother, a sister in Germany and other relatives also survive. Mrs. Schormann was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. Funeral service were held Tuesday at two o’clock at the house and at three at St. Paul’s Lutheran church north of Arlington.
