FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT SIOUX CITY

Mrs. Charles Campbell Buried Last Wednesday Afternoon

Clara Elizabeth Summers was born in Edgewood, Illinois, January 9, 1866, and died at her home in Sioux City, Iowa on July 29, 1929 at the age of 63 years. When she was a child she came to Nebraska with her parents, and located on a homestead near where the city of Blair now stands. She attended the Blair schools and in May, 1891 she was united in marriage with Charles H. Campbell of this city. The family lived in Blair for many years and later moved to Winnebago where they lived until about five years ago when they moved to Sioux City. She had been ill with malignant throat trouble since last December.

Surviving her are her bereaved husband, two sons, Edward and Howard of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. R. A. Pond of Portland, Oregon and Gertrude of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Fryman of this city and two brothers, James Summers of Alberta, Canada and M. A. Summers of Page, Neb.

Funeral services were held from the First Presbyterian church at Sioux City last Wednesday morning, Rev. Earl Benhow officiating, after which the body was brought to Blair where a service was held from the Methodist church with Rev. J. G. Shick in charge. Interment was made in Blair Cemetery.

FORMER BLAIR WOMAN BURIED HERE Clara Elizabeth Summers was born in Edgewood, Effingham Co., Illinois January 9, 1866 and passed away at Sioux City, Iowa July 29, 1939, aged sixty three years, six months, twenty days. When a child she, with her parents, immigrated to Nebraska and settled on a homestead near where the city of Blair now stands. She grew to womanhood in Blair, attending the Blair schools.

In May, 1891 she was united in marriage to Charles H. Campbell of Blair, Nebraska, who survives her. To this union four children were born, all of whom are living and were with her at the time of death. Two daughters, Gertrude of Sioux City and Mrs. R. A. Pond of Portland, Oregon; two sons, Edward and Howard of Sioux City. One sister, Mrs. Margaret Fryman of Blair; two brothers, James Summers of Erskine, Alberta, Canada, M. A. Summers of Page, Nebr., also survive.

After marriage she remained in Blair for many years, later moving to Winnebago, Neb. where she resided until five years ago when she moved to Sioux City.

She had been ill since December, 1928, with malignant throat trouble. She has been a patient sufferer, ever hopeful for recovery until God called her home.

She will ever remain in loving memory as a faithful wife and a devoted mother.

Funeral services were held in the First Presbyterian church at Sioux City, Iowa Wednesday morning, July 31. Rev. Earl Benbow of the Third Presbyterian church officiating, after which the remains were taken to Blair, Neb. where services were held in the first M. E. church under the direction of Rev. Shick. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

The following out of town people attended the funeral services: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor and Mrs. Allan Rose of Rosalie, Neb; Mrs. Andrew Caldwell of Walthill and Mr. and Mrs. James Lennon of Winnebago, Neb.
