HANS PETERSEN DIES MONDAY

Had Not Been in Good Health for Some Time

Hans T. Petersen was born at Husum, Schleswig Holstein, Germany July 24, 1863, and died at his home on south Walker Avenue on Monday. At the age of twenty one he came to Douglas county, Nebraska, and on February 5, 1885 he was married to Dorothy Schmidt at Omaha. To this union five children were born, of whom three survive. Mrs. Petersen passed away in June, 1904.

On June 14, 1911 Mr. Petersen was married to Miss Ida Heberling of St. Edward, Nebraska, and to this union a son, Harold, was born. The Petersen home was at Benson until eight years ago when the family moved to Blair. Mr. Petersen had not been in the best of health for the past seven years, but managed to keep fairly active until last June when he began to fail steadily.

He leaves to mourn his loss his bereaved wife, Mrs. Ida Petersen; two daughters,Mrs. J. R. Channer of Cedar Rapids, Nebr. and Mrs. F. M. Stewart of Belden; and two sons, John Henry Petersen of Dixon and Harold Petersen of this city.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon, the Rev. Carl G. Bader officiating, after which interment was made in the Mt. Hope cemetery at Benson.

Hans Thomas Petersen was born July 24, 1863 at Husum, Schleswig Holstein, Germany and was, when a boy, confirmed in the German Lutheran church.

At the age of twenty one he came to America, settling in Douglas county, Nebraska. He made this his home for a number of years and was married in Omaha on February 5, 1885 to Miss Dorothy Schmidt. To this union five children were born, three of whom survive.

Mrs. Petersen died in June, 1904 and in 1911 he married Miss Ida Heberling of St. Edwards, Neb., and to this union one son, Harold, was born.

The Petersens moved to Blair eight years ago and purchased a home on South Walker Avenue where the family still resides.

Deceased has been in poor health for the past seven years, but was taken seriously ill last June and died last Monday noon, August 19, at the age of sixty six years and twenty six days.

Surviving him are the wife and two daughters, Mrs. J. R. Channer of Cedar Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. F. M. Stewart of Benson, Neb; John Henry Petersen of Dixon, Neb. and Harold of Blair.

The funeral services were held at the home on South Walker Avenue at two p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, with Rev. C. G. Bader of the Methodist church officiating and the music furnished by Miss Gertrude Mead and Mrs. Wm. V. Wright. Interment was made in the Mount Hope cemetery at Benson.
