R. W. HITCHMAN DIES AT WEEPING WATER

Expires at Home After Illness of Short Duration R. W. Hitchman, father of C. M. and R. C. Hitchman of this city, died suddenly at his home at Weeping Water last Thursday evening following an illness of but short duration. Mr. Hitchman was born February 28, 1848 at Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, and on July 30,1871 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Colburn at that city. In 1886 the family came to Nebraska where they have since resided. Mr. Hitchman was a frequent visitor in Blair, and held a wide acquaintance of friends who thought very highly of him.

Funeral services were held at Weeping Water last Sunday afternoon after which interment was made in the Weeping Water cemetery. All of the children excepting J. C. Hitchman were present at the funeral. Surviving him are his bereaved wife; four sons, J. C. Hitchman of San Juan, Puerto Rico; A. B. Hitchman of San Antonio, Texas; and C. M. and R. C. Hitchman of this city; and four daughters, Mrs. J. R. Pilling of Omaha, Mrs. L. P. Wolcott of Weeping Water, Mrs. Albert Pool of Wabash, Nebraska, and MRs. O. R. Clark of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
