OBITUARY

Edna A. Puffer was born April 9, 1872 near Tekamah, Nebr. and grew to womanhood in that community. She was united in marriage to Emmett N. Manley on March 19th, 1891. They made their home on a farm east of Tekamah until 1901 when they moved to Divide Center east of Lyons, Nebr, where they lived twenty years. In 1921 they moved to Nashville, Nebr., where they resided until their demise. Mr. Manley passed away Oct. 23, 1931, and Mrs. Manley departed soon after, going at six o’clock Dec. 15, 1931.

They leave to mourn their loss Jesse L. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mina M. Kroger, Rosalie, Nebr; Mildred R. Ballow, Ashland, Neb; Carrie L., Cecil B. and John K. of Nashville, Nebr. She also leaves three sisters and one brother, namely: Mrs. Ella Shafer of Elsie, Nebr., Mrs. Minnie Jones of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Libbie Frank and Abner Puffer, both of Tekamah, Neb.

Mrs. Manley confessed faith in Christ early in life. She united with the Divide Center Presbyterian church where she became a loyal worker. She was a faithful wife and loving mother, devoting most of her time to her home and the rearing of her family. She was a charitable woman and was interested in the betterment and welfare of her community, at times taking the responsibility of leadership in Sunday school work. She made and held many friends, and through suffering was patient and uncomplaining.

The funeral services were held at the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian church Thursday, Dec. 17, Rev.H. W. Hansen of Holdrege, Neb. preaching the sermon. Music was furnished by Divide Center. Interment was in the Lyons cemetery.
