Ernest Theodore Meier, 46, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 22 at his farm home near Spiker, Neb. in the Herman vicinity, the victim of a heart attack. Meier’s death was sudden as he was apparently in the best of health. He was engaged in doing chores at his home when he was stricken.

Meier was born on January 28, 1885 in the Spiker neighborhood. His marriage to Bertha Kerkhoff took place on April 29, 1914 at Fontanelle. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons: Milton, 16; Harlan, 12; Eldon, 9; and Gerald, 7, all at home; his father and one sister, Mrs. William Hass of Winslow. His mother died in 1919.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at one o’clock at the home and at one thirty at the Vacoma St. John’s German Lutheran church.
