Howard Franke Rites Tuesday Near Winslow

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 20th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow, Nebraska, for Howard Franke, 69, who had died at his farm home on Saturday, April 17th. Mr. Franke, a lifetime resident of Washington County, was born near Herman September 17, 1901. He was raised on a farm and had been a farmer all of his life.

He was baptized in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at his birth and was confirmed in March of 1915. On November 23, 1926, he was married to Miss Nora Gieselman who survives his death.

Besides his wife there are two sons, Maynard and Eugene, both of Fremont; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Irene) Sherod, of Omaha, three grandsons, two granddaughters and one sister, Mrs. Fred H. (Clara) Wolf, of Hooper. He had been preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

The Rev. Henry Stoll conducted the services Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church and interment, under the direction of the Warne Funeral Home at Hooper was made in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fritz Bartling, Fred Benjes, Arthur Hagerbaumer, Fred Hagerbaumer, Paul Kuhls and Otis Bartling.

Howard Franke, 69, died suddenly Saturday, April 17, at his farm home near Herman.

Mr. Franke was born Sept 17, 1901 at Herman. He had lived in the community west of Herman his entire life.

He married Nora Gieselman on Nov. 26, 1926. She survives, with two sons, Maynard and Eugene, both of Fremont; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Irene) Sherod of Omaha; three grandsons, two granddaughters, and a sister, Mrs. Fred H. (Clara) Wolf of Hooper.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Winslow with Rev. Henry L. Stoll pastor in charge.

Pallbearers were members of the 195 Confirmation Class, Fritz Bartling, Otis Bartling, Fred Benjes, Arthur Hagerbaumer, Fred Hagerbaumer, and Paul Kuhls. Interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
