JOHN H. TAYLOR

John H. Taylor, prominent Washington county farmer, and a resident of the county for fifty five years, passed away at the Immanuel hospital in Omaha last Friday, September 11, following an operation from which he could not rally.

Deceased had been ailing for the past two years, but of late his sufferings had been so acute that he submitted to an operation with the hopes that he might get relief.

He was born in Russell, Iowa, August 29, 1871, and with his parents, settled at Rose Hill fifty five years ago where he has since resided. In his long residence in the one community he made friends of everyone, and he will be greatly missed. For a number of years he served very ably as director of the school in his district, and in other positions of trust, all of which duties he performed in an honorable upright manner.

He was a devout Mason and lived up to its most sacred teachings in every respect, and it was most fitting that the Blair lodge, of which he was a member, should conduct the funeral ceremonies.

Besides the devoted and grief-stricken wife, he leaves nine children: Howard W. and Harold E. of Blair, Mrs. Clemens Williamson of Herman, John Jr. of Blair, and Helen, Clifford, Charles, Russell and Maxine, all at home on the farm near Rose Hill. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Austin Renshaw of Blair, and one brother, Will Taylor of Ft. Collins, Colorado.

The funeral services were held last Sunday at the Rose Hill church, and interment was made in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
