Squire Jones was born December 15, 1848 in Porter County, Ind. He departed this life October 8, 1931, aged 82 years, 7 months and 12 days.

He was married to Mrs. Nellie Pearson in 1887 at Union City, Mich. They made their home at Union City and Climax, Mich. until Mrs. Jones’ death in 1911. No children were born to this marriage. In 1912 Mr. Jones moved to Blair, Neb. where he resided till the time of his death.

November, 1930 he was admitted to Crowell Memorial Home. He soon became an invalid, and was confined to his bed most of the time. In this Christian institution, made possible by the benevolence of the Methodist church, he received the very best care till death relieved him from his pain and suffering.

He was converted in his early life, and became a member of the Baptist church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Blair Baptist church, in this church he served faithfully as long as he was able to attend.

One brother, Andrew Jones, of Grand Island, Neb. is the only surviving near relative. The next close kin are five nephews.

After a short service at the Crowell Home, the funeral service was held Sunday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. from the Blair Baptist church. The pastor, L. J. Moran officiating, assisted by Rev. E. M. Fletcher.

Interment was in the Herman Cemetery.
