EARLY SETTLER ANSWERS CALL

Niels J. Andersen, one of the Washington county early settlers, answered the last call on Wednesday of last week, October 14.

Deceased was born in Denmark July 2, 1845 where he resided until 1869 when he came to America. After a short stay in Omaha, he moved to his homestead eight miles northwest of Blair, and later to the home where he lived until his death.

In 1869 he was married to Anne Marie Johannsen, and to this union seven children were born, four of whom died in infancy. The three children are John of Minneapolis and Nina and Walter at home. There are also four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Anderson was a man of high Christian type, and was held in the highest esteem by those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed in his home community in which he was always active in church and civic affairs.

The funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon from the Orum church with Rev. J. P. Reinertsen officiating, and interment was made in the Orum cemetery.
