Nora L. Franke, 94

Nora L. Franke, 94, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Services were Friday, Sept. 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont with Pastor David Loeschen officiating. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery east of Winslow.

Pallbearers were Pernell, Jerry, Greg, Shawn and Scott Franke and Jeremy Dougherty.

Nora L. Gieselmann was born Jan. 24, 1904, in Arlington to Herman and Ana (Beugholt) Gieselmann. She grew up on a farm northeast of Arlington.

On Nov. 23, 1926, she married Howard Franke at Arlington. The couple lived 10 miles west and one mile south of Herman.

Mr. Franke died April 17, 1971. In September of 1971, Mrs. Franke moved to Fremont.

In July of 1994, she moved to Arbor Manor.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Fremont, Jolly Friendship Club, a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Hooper.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Maynard and Rose Franke and Eugene and Jennie Franke, all of Fremont; a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Paul Sherod of Arlington; a sister, Edna Bartling of Fremont; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; five brothers, William, Edward, Martin, Paul and Walter Gieselmann and three sisters, Martha Flake, Elsie Gruenke and Ella Gieselmann.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.

Nora Louise Franke, the daughter of Herman H. and Anna C. (Beugholt) Gieselmann, was born January 24, 1904 at Arlington, Nebraska. She grew up on a farm north east of Arlington. She married Howard Franke on November 23, 1926 at Arlington. The couple lived on a farm 10 miles west and 1 mile south of Herman, NE. Howard died on April 17, 1971 and Nora moved to Fremont in September, 1971. She had been residing at Arbor Manor in Fremont since July 1994.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont and the Jolly Friendship Club; she was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Arlington and Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow, NE.

Nora passed from this life on Wednesday, September 2nd, at Arbor Manor in Fremont, Nebraska, at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 9 days. She is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law, Maynard & Rose Franke and Eugene & Jennie Franke, both of Fremont, NE; daughter & son-in-law, Irene & Paul Sherod of Arlington; sister, Edna Bartling of Fremont; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great-grandchildren.
