MRS. FRANK JENKINS

Mrs. Frank Jenkins, nee Lucy Maude Patrick, passed away at her home in this city on Friday, July 10th after an illness of many months’ duration. Deceased was born in the New England neighborhood October 27, 1880, where she spent her earlier childhood, and where she received her education.

Her father, Rev. John Patrick, was a Baptist minister and lived the part. Coming to this county in the late seventies the family saw much of the earlier settlement and development of those days.

She was married to Frank M. Jenkins February 8, 1906 at the home of her parents, who then resided in Blair, and for six years the young people made their home in Omaha, returning to Blair in 1912 where they have since made their home.

Having been reared under the influences of the church, she was of a deeply religious turn, and in her life she lived consistently up to her convictions.

Having known her and her husband for a long term of years as personal friends, and knowing her virtues, we can find no words adequate to express the respect in which she is held. A faithful wife and mother, unselfish and with her thoughts always for the welfare of those she loved, she always showed a beautiful character which we could all emulate to advantage.

At the funeral, which was held Sunday afternoon from the home, her old friends and neighbors of the New England neighborhood were present to show their last respects and express their sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the W.R.C. and they were present as a body at her funeral.

Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery beside those of the parents who passed away some years ago.

Besides the bereaved husband and daughter, she leaves to mourn her one sister, Mrs. Anna Goodrich of California and three brothers, James Patrick of Burnett, Mo.; Wade of Craig, Neb., and Judson of Garvin, Minnesota.
